Spence Peak

A couple nights at Spence Hut, a 2 bunk bivvy hut in the Takitimus. Day 1 led me from the Aparima Trailhead to the hut. Heavy rain from morning until evening meant a rest day in the hut on Day 2. Day 3 began with a scramble up Spence Peak before the afternoon walk back to the car.

The Takitimus from Lake Te Anau. On a day with rain everywhere else and heavy falls forecast for the next few days, these guys looked pretty inviting.
